This Privacy Policy explains how BareBones PM (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our property management application at barebonespm.com (the “Service”). BareBones PM is provided free of charge.
Information we collect
We collect only what the Service needs to function:
- Account information — when you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile image; if you sign in by email we collect your email address.
- Information you enter — the properties, units, tenants, leases, and financial ledger entries you add, including any documents or receipts you upload.
- Usage data — basic analytics about how the Service is used (such as pages visited), collected through a third-party analytics provider, plus standard technical logs.
How we use information
- To provide, authenticate, and operate the Service.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Service.
- To understand usage so we can improve the Service.
- To communicate with you about your account (for example, sign-in emails).
Tenant and third-party information
You are responsible for any personal information about tenants or other people that you enter. Please ensure you have a lawful basis and any necessary permission to do so. You act as the controller of that information; we process it on your behalf solely to provide the Service.
How information is stored and shared
We do not sell your data. We rely on a small set of trusted service providers to run the Service, including:
- Cloud hosting and database providers — to run the application and store your data.
- Authentication and analytics providers — to sign you in and to measure how the Service is used.
- Email delivery providers — to send transactional messages such as sign-in codes.
Your data is stored in the United States. Each user’s data is isolated at the database level using row-level security.
Cookies
We use a strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in, and analytics cookies to measure usage. You can block cookies in your browser, though the Service may not work correctly without the sign-in cookie.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and its data at any time by contacting us; we will delete it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain information to comply with law.
Your choices and rights
You can view and correct most of your information directly in the app. For access, correction, export, or deletion requests, use our contact form — send it from the email address on the account, since we verify identity before acting on data requests.
Security
We use least-privilege database roles, per-user row-level security, and encrypted connections. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service means you accept the updated policy.
